Paul holds bachelors of science and masters of science degrees in mechanical engineering and has a background in medical imaging technology and in the area of high energy physics. He prepares and prosecutes patent applications in the mechanical and electro-mechanical arts.

Paul has extensive background in product development and in conducting basic engineering research. He has 11 patents issued as a named inventor, and has authored several journal articles in various engineering and physics publications.

Paul received his law degree in 2004 from Marquette University. His undergraduate degree in ME was received in 1990, with distinction, from UW-Madison. His advanced degree in solar engineering was received in 1992 from UW-Madison as well. Paul is a member of the State Bars of Wisconsin and Missouri.
